Quickstart
Check a deadline or fill a waiver from the API in minutes.
1. Look up a deadline
Enter the state and the first-furnishing date — the date labor or materials were first furnished.
curl -s "https://api.lienlift.example/api/deadline?state=CA&first_furnishing=2026-01-05"
# {"state":"CA","rule":"20 days from first furnishing","deadline":"2026-01-25",
# "reminder_schedule":["2026-01-18","2026-01-11","2026-01-04"],
# "disclaimer":"Reference data only — not legal advice. ..."}2. Fill a waiver
Send the waiver type, state, and fields; get the filled document text back.
curl -s -X POST https://api.lienlift.example/api/waiver \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"waiver_type":"conditional_progress","state":"FL",
"fields":{"claimant":"Acme Electric","owner":"BuildCo",
"project":"Harbor Lofts","property_address":"1 Pier St, Tampa FL",
"amount":"$12,500.00","through_date":"2026-09-30","date_signed":"2026-10-15"}}'3. Browse the state table
See prelim-notice rules and statutory-waiver flags for every state.
curl -s https://api.lienlift.example/api/states | python3 -m json.tool | head -30
Honest limits
- Deadline data is reference-grade — not legal advice. Every output carries a verify-with-a-licensed-attorney notice.
- Waiver documents are templates, not legal instruments. A construction attorney must review the dataset before launch.
- LienLift is not a law firm and never presents itself as one.
4. Claim an account and sign a waiver
After checkout, open claim.html with your Stripe session to reveal your API key (shown once). Create projects with the key, then POST /api/esign/envelopes to generate a waiver and a one-time signing link with a full audit trail. Texas deadlines accept claimant_tier and project_type; every state response carries its verification status and source.
